Thanks for a great story. I've lost two myself, one to COPD and one to cancer. It's been three years since the last one left. I didn't follow either one shortly after, makes me wonder if I did something wrong. Thanks for the entertainment and sharing your talent. You always amaze me.

Smoking is a like drugs and booze. I used drugs and drank a quart of Brandy a day. You may not believe it. I also worked 12 to 14 hours a day. I did this for over 20 years. I worked a dusty enviroment. I had one lung go bad a age of 42. The cause according to the VA doctor was smoking. I have COPD. I drank and used drugs until at the age of 46 I just stopped. No reason, I just guess I didn't enjoy it anymore. I don't think smoking caused the COPD. It didn't help it. After at that I still can't quit smoking. Its worse then any drug,its legal.

I think this is one of if not the first story where one of your characters quit smoking! I enjoyed it for years even though people around me tried to get me to quit. I did but to late - I've suffered from COPD for years now and cancer for the last two. I do enjoy reading you stories though - thank you.

Thank you for your kind comments...lol. Jaz's stalker is a trip and makes for some hilarious comments. This person just needs to admit to him/herself that they are just as addicted to our Jaz's writing as the rest of us and get it over with..lol.
By the way, I read your profile and I just wanted to tell you that my own Mother had COPD and I do as well..I can relate to what you are going through. You and your family are in my prayers.....

Thank you for your tale Q. I know most would rather burn their ex-wives. I only had one and there were ups and downs but when I found I was stage 4 lung/bone cancer after suffering COPD for years, she stepped up to help. She still is after 4 years and she goes to every doctor appointment (she feels she is good luck). She may be right, I was told a few days ago that I am in remission. Oh yeah, 5 stars.

Well WE all know that why else would they bother to read the stories each and evey week..
Thanks for the comments, the COPD in itself has not been an issue it is the resp failure which is the problem. It has a 40% mortality rate and added to her other (not specified) problems means she is basically poisioning herself with cO2..Organs dont respond well to cO2!
She survived one major setback in January but each day is a blessing for her and us..I unfortunatly live too far away to be of help day to day so my brothers have her care. I visit when work permits.
